At 4:00 p.m. today, Typhoon "PEPENG" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 940 kms East of Surigao City (10.2°N, 135.0°E) with maximum sustained winds of 120 kph and gustiness of up to 150 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 22 kph.Northern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest and South will prevail over the Western section of the country and coming from the Southeast and Northwest will prevail elsewhere. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
